NAPIER MARDI GRAS.
(Pee Peess Association.) XAPIKH, Nov. 20. A new iiml novel feature in launching; the Mardi Gras queen election transpired last night, when a huge audience assembled in the Municipal Theatre to listen to a series of ten minute speeches delivered by selected speakers on behalf ol the ten candidates for a prize of one thousand votes to the speaker delivering the best , speech. The audience voted this amount to the combined brass bands’ candidate.
