ROSLYN TROUBLE SETTLED. (Ptr Press Association.; DUNEDIN, April 9. At a meeting of the, employees directly interested in the dispute at tho Roslyn woollen mills hold to-day, the dispute centred round the position of tho sub foreman, and the directors offered to reinstate him in his old position. Complete settlement was effected on the basis of tho reinstatement of the sub-foreman and the re-employment of tlio workers concerned in the dispute. It is understood that all hands will resume work on Friday morning. . In an official 'statement regarding tho dispute with tho employers at Green Island, the Minors’ Union states that Die two points at issue aro the trucking conditions as they affect the miner and the filling of household coal. The Union claims that tho condition providing that a miner shall truck coid four chains is not conducive to the employment of tho best methods of handling coal after it leaves Dio face, and that it is impossible for some men to carry out this condition under the present circumstances. Regarding the filling of household coal, the Union claims that (ho spirit of tho agreement is not. observed by tho employers, as all household coal filled in excess of orders is paid for at engine coal rates, meaning a loss in some cases ol Is to 5s per day in wages to the miners. Anmeeting of the miners was held this morning, bub it was adjoffrned as no communication had been received from tho employers.
