OLD BOYS’ PRACTICAL-SUGGESTION. The position of hockey generally in Palmerston North was discussed at a meeting of the Campbell Street Old Boys’ Club which was held last night. Mr Jackson was in the chair. The object of the meeting was to consider the prospects of hockey in the district, with the object of assuring stronger and more widespread competition. In the course of a general discussion it was stated that Old Boys comprised easily I Ihe strongest team, and there was no en- ; eourageinent for other clubs to compete l against them, in order to give a new , lease, of life to the game, and, so as t<> ■ provide a more equitable distribution of players amongst the various clubs, the Old Boys were willing to split up their memmership.
