JUBILEE YEAR OF REV. M. CHRISTENSEN.

DANISH LUTHERAN MINISTER

A very large mooting of parishioner', took place at the Danish Lutheran Church, Church street, Palmerston North, on Wednesday afternoon, the occasion being the celebration of Rev, M. Christenson’s twenty-fifth year as minister for this parish. In commemoration of the event, the rev. gentleman was presented with a purse ol sovereigns as a mark of the high esteem in which he is held by his congregation. Eulogistic addresses were delivered by various elders of the church, both from. Hacombo and locally, and till were most emphatic in their expressions of gratitude to the minister who had served his. congregation so faithfully during a very lengthy period. Other friends made expressions of good wishes and ,if the parishioners’ earnest desire that their guest (the rev. gentleman) would enjoy good health and ho spared to serve ths parish for many years to come. There was a. full choir in attendance, and a most enthusiastic meeting concluded with the singing of the. National Anthem, after which over 200 members of tin- congrega-

lion assembled in the Sunday School Hall and partook of light refreshments, kindly provided by the ladies of the congregation.
