His speech was a direct incentive to a British revolution. Jt vas a sensationally violent appeal, urgng the British workers to follow Rusi’a’s example. He ridiculed the idea ,'iat the Russian revolution was against be bureaucracy. It was against the car. M. Vandervelde (Belgian Socialist) made a crushing rejoinder, sobering some thoughtless enthusiasm. He reminded the conference of invaded Prance and Belgium and the tale of ;ho small nations until the German socialists accepted the Allies’ war aims.
