ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.

(Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Feb. 6. The premises of George Roves, an estate agent, were burglarised lasts' night. Mr Boycs on entering the front door heard someone jumping through tho back window. On investigating he found an attempt had been' made to blow up tho safe. The handle was blown to pieces and the lock embedded in tho wall, while there was a fuse on tho floor. The attempt was a particularly daring one, as it was only nine o’clock in the evening when it was made. The safe was just inside the window, the oflices being in the busiest part of tlio main street. The police are investigating, and think it is tho work of an amateur.
