Works uueomploted: Culvert Terraco street £6O, culvert Rrincess street £SO, fernery £IOO, roadway, Opera House £l6B, tar roadway', Foxton Line £950. tar near railway station £250. tar Church street to Rrincess street £350, tar llangitikci street to bridge* £350; total, £2278. (In addition to the above amounts £SOO was set aside for sewer connection, of which amount about £IOO has been exepnded.) In reply to a question by Cr. Broad, the engineer said that the amounts reported as expended were the amounts allowed on the estimates for the works. The Mayor said that it was proposed to go on with tho tarring of the road near the railway .station as soon as the tarring in Uhruch street is finished. Starting at the railway station, the portion down Foxton Line would no done, and after that Ilaugitikei street.
