Mnagaonc Riding.—The gravelling on tlio Feilding-Halcoinbo road is now finished. 1 intend running the grader along Lethbridge's road, also ptitting more gravel where required before tin 1 teams leave.

Rangitawn Riding.—Thc surfacemen have done all that is required in this riding for tlie month. The grave] on the. Mingiora road .is very rough, and 1 am at present having it clayed. Raunianga Ruling.—The men have | been most oi their time during the ! month putting the Junction road in order. A timber culvert near Mr Page's has had to be renewocl by «*» pipe one. There is also a timber culvert given way on the Makara road near .Air Hailey's, which will wain renewing by a concrete one as soo"n as the stream is dry. This culvert is 3-lft long, and tlie cost will be about GSO. Makino Riding.—Tlie teams are still at work gravelling on the Kimbo] ton road, and it will take some time yet to. finish. The drain which Mr Fetch and Mr Soulhe.v complained about is now being attended to. As soon as Ihe other work on hand is finished, the Maugaone road will be attended to. f should also like to run the grader along the read. Taouui Riding.—The contractor for gravelling Rcid's line has made a start with his contract, but the pi I is rather a bad one to get out oi in wet weather. Having so much rain has somewhat delayed this work. The surface men hay< done all other work required during tii< month. fliwinui Hiding'.• : The surface mei l have done till that has been necessary during the month. The Ashlmrst RumiythoVpc road was cutting upratnei badly in places, and 1 have had it. attended to. Otangaki Riding.—The surface men hare been aide to do ad that was required in this riding, and at present are putting footpaths and main street in order. General.—Owing io the heavy rain on the 7th, the Mangaone bridge near Bunnytliorpo lias been badly damaged, and it will take some time to repair. At present all traffic is stopped. The new bridge on the Tokorangi road has also been damaged by the flood, and the Kakttriki bridge is unsafe for traille-.
