RACING STABLES DESTROYED.

(P"3 Peksb Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 9. Last evening fh o racing stables of Ben Jardon, the well-known trainer of trotters, at Islington, were destroyed by fire. "When Jardon reached Islington the stables were well ablaze and beyond all hope of being saved. The valuable horses in the building wore saved, and, apart from singeing and fright, seem little the worse for the adventure. Jardon owed the recovery of his horses primarily to the pluck and resource of one of the stable boys, Raymond Gibson, who dashed into the burning stables, and had rescued throe of the four horses—Author Dillon, President Wilson, Dillon Bell and Watchlight—before he fell unconscious. Dilon was difficult to remove, and the boy had to use a fork to “prod” the horse to face the flames. Anther Dillon’s tail was badly singed, but otherwise he sustained no injuries.
