COUNCIL'S CURIOUS POSITION.
(Pbr Phf.ss Association.) WOODVILLE, Nov. 8. \ unique position arose with the County Council to-day. The ordinary meeting could not be held because nominations dosed yesterday, two old members retiring, including Mr M. Hughes, the County Chairman. Members have been declared elected tor three ridings, the election for Maharahara taking place next week. As no business could be transacted a temporary Finance Committee arranged the more pressing matters.
