Mi. Stewart Riding.—The, road grader Imw been employed to clean out the watertables aloßg portions; of the Rakchou road, Leo's lino'-aud the'PciHHng-Awahuri road, Mr T. r.a-tin. lias completed hi- contract for taking off the sharp corner and widening the cnibanlcnient-and also the footpath and water channel on the L'eilding-Awahuri road. I ha\e arranged with Mr T. P.astin to con.-truct about seven chains of drain on Mr Barrett'* property from the Mnkino creek to connect with the old drain thai Ivn > ,r:.)./, Well: sheet for the sum of £25.3s 3d.

Rongotea Riding.—Very little has been done in this riding during the past month beyond tile usual rofid maintenance work, and trimming tin the ICopano roads. On behalf of the contractors for regradmg and the metalling of the Rongotea etmelerhill, r ha:\-i arranged with Mr P. Vallender to Mipplv the balance of Hi-' metal require! to complete thkv contract for the rum oi o. per yard. , , . Kawa Kawa Riding-Metal has been carted and weak places patched up along the Mangawhala road, and a bridge lias also been repaired on this read. I have arranged with Mr I. D. S.
