Received November 5* 11.10 a.m. \ LONDON, Nov. 5 a' l wireless German official message states: Tlv- re .has been a powerful destructive fire on tIA Yser lowlands, in the region between lloutlp dst Wood and the Ypres-Commes EugliUi battalions attacking southward of StojukovV'. between Vardcr and Lake Doiran, iJcavdl.V' collapsed. The Auttro-Gennans have gamed a crossing 'in Vl’mA middle of the Taglianiento. and are advancing westwards, taking six thousand prisoners and a number of guns. After a- brave defence against six cruisers and l nine-large destroyers, a small German auxiliary cruiser .was sunk in the Kattegat. The' English announcement that ten patrol boats - were destroyed is incorrect. None of the vessels are missing except the one mentioned.

Pcrcfival Phillips- states that a letter found 'on a German Luudwchr soldier contained a protest against the Germans forcing Belgian girls to build concrete dug-outs under lire. The writer says ho was in charge of a party o.f ,50 of these slaves behind the Ysor. Ho ssays it was a shameful deed, and simply inconceivable.
