THE ITALIAN RETREAT,
VIOLENT BATTLE TO CONTINUE. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. HOME, Nov. 5. The Popolo Romano states that the Tagliamcnto battle is likely to continue violently for some time on the Italian left. ITALIANS HOLD ENEMY. WASHINGTON, Nov. 5. An official despatch states that the Italians are holding the Teutons everywhere. The French High Command points out that Anglo-French attacks are compelling Germany to transport more troops to the west front. This will probably restrict the aid which she is able to extend to Austria on the Italian front, until the situation there is relieved.
