NEW ZEALAND NURSES' MEMORIAL FUND.
entertainment this evening AT THE OPERA HOUSE. It should be unnecessary to remind our readers of the entertainment to be held nt the Opera House this evening at 8 o’clock in aid of the above fund. No more laudable object has been placed before the public during the course of the war, and we have little doubt that, apart from the object of the entertainment, those interested, after perusing the programme which appears on our first page, will agree with us when we say that seldom lias a programme of such variety and quality been offered to the public of Palmerston Nortli. An item that is bound to arouse much enthusiasm and interest is the short address by Captain Jack Bennett, recently returned from the front. This officer will speak for a quarter of an hour on the fighting qualities of our boys, but will refer more particularly to the nurses and the work they have performed. Miss Joseph, with her usual generosity, has sent forward quantities of really beautiful sweets. These'will bo sold to further the funds at the usual reasonable rates.
The performance, commences at 8 sharp, iinet patron* are request oil to he in their f.uino tually at that hour.
