Remit- happenings in Russia and Italy has brought the conscription issue strongly to the front again. Throughout the ( ninmonwealth there, js an insistently growing demand that the Federal Government shou cl fairly face, the position, in view of the steadily shrinking yield of voluntary enlistments and fhc altered state of affairs on certain of the battle fronts. The supporters of conscription contend that these combined factors have absolved the Government from ils pledge not to resurrect the issue.
