BIPLANE'S VICTORY. NEW ZEALAND'S FLYING MACHINE. (Bi Electric Tkleoraph—Copyright.) (Feb Pbesb Association.) Received Novcmbor 5, 11.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 5. Good as was Biplane's time in the Victorian Derby, critics declare that he could easily have bettered it bad lie desired. The first half-mile took 55§sec; then the pace was clapped on for the second half-mile, which took 51 i;; the last six furlongs were covered in 1.10, and the last mile in 1.39 J. The Herald says that there was a select and well-conditioned field, hut it was a race of a one-horse variety. Tho New Zealand flying machine took charge in a few strides, and soon opened a clear lead, and played with the field all the way. He won with the greatest ease. The Telegraph says: At the six furlongs Biplane moved away like a bit of machinery, and going on recorded a popular win in the easiest fashion.
