WELSH COAL PITS IDLE.
LONDON, Nov. 1. Owing to an examiners’ strike, over 80 per cent of the Welsh coal pits are idle. The examiners refused the owners’ conditional otter to recognise the Examiners’ Union. Early returns of the miners’ ballot in South Wales indicate an overwhelming majority against a strike over the combing* out proposals.
