(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr H Simmons, who is contesting a seat on the Manuwatn County Council, addressed a very large meeting of ratepayers at, Baincsso on Wednesday night. Mr Metcalfe occupied the chair, and m introducing the candidate spoke of Ins sterling worth to (he district. Mr b.mmons was accorded a good hearing. He dealt with many matters of importance, and on concluding his speech was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence. laikorea and Glen Oroua will be. visited shortly by Mr Simmons. . , ~ Wo are pleased to learn that Mis u. Simpson, who underwent an operation recently, is making a speedy recovery.
