C 1 MEN FAREWELLED.

The second draft of Cl men, who concentrated hero yesterday, were tiecorded a send-off at the Anzuc C..--1 u last evening. The men marched Irom the Showground headed by the Salvation Army Band, and were welcomed at the hall bv Mr C. K. Lonis-on. -Mr Nash, on behalf of the 'Patriotic Society, in a- low well-chosen words, wished them God-speed and the best of luck, lie said that they felt that something should be done t-o entertain the men, and it had always been a great pleasure to do this. The scnd-ofls hat! eon tinned month after month lor the past three years, and had always been of a pleasing nature. Cigarettes were then handed round, and the Awapuni Orchestra, under Cpl. Fleming, opened the programme with an overture. Contributions to the programme were made by Misses Taylor, Drew, Williamson, Privates Lane. Kearny, Aitkcn, Lieut. Packman. .Messrs Cookson, and J. J. Rogers. A bright and eatehy song, entitled "Boys of Awapuni.” composed by Cpl. Fleming, was sting by Sergt.-Major Harcham. and was keenly appreciated, while all the vocal items were loudly encored. The intervals were filled in by selections from the orchestra, which is making splendid headway under Cpl. Fleming, and fast becoming a really good musical combination. The accompaniments were played by Mrs T. J. Rogers and Pte. Chalk. After the concert the- men marched back to their billots at the Showgrounds, and left tor camp this morning.
