A MISSING PARTY.
GET LOST IN TAR AREA RANGE. ARRIVE SAFELY YESTERDAY. A party of five people left Woodvillo on Saturday morning to cross tha Tararua range to Otaki. They expected to reach Otaki on Monday, but up till if p.m. yesterday nothing had been heard of them. A search party was organised to go to Otaki by yesterday afternoon’s train to work up the rango this morning. Mr W. H. Field, M.R., telegraphed to Otaki to give the search party all assistance possible. Word came through yesterday afternoon that the party had just reached Woodville. They had got lost in tho thick weather which prevailed during tho week-end and had finally managed to got back to tho starting point.—N'.Z. Times.
