HUNAN CAPTURES HONG SHANG, A COMPROMISE URGED. (Ry Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Pur Press Association.i Received October 24, 11.0 a.in. SHANGHAI, Oct. 22. Hunan Independent forces, _ reinforced from Kwangtung and Kwangsi, captured Hong Sluing, after a two days’ battle. Several of the Governors urge the Government to agree to a compromise. It. is reported that the British Minister, Sir John N. Jordan, has also recommended a compromise, but the Premier, Tuan. Yhijiu. refuses. More northern troops have been despatched against Hunan.
