WAR BONUS FOR PUBLIC SERVANTS.
(Feoh Oob Pabmamentabt Repobteb.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. The Minister for Finance has told a reporter that there will he a war bonus for public servants this year. The position is perplexing. If tho Government cannot pay the soldier with a wife and child more than £3 3s a week (including allowances) without imperilling our financial stability, bow can lie provide a war bonus for civil servants whose incomes already exceed this amount?
