The Eon. Arthur Myers, Minister ol Munitions, when approached in regard to the present position of white lead supplies, stated that he was hopeful some time ago of relief being afforded to the Dominion by .supplies being available* from the Commonwealth of Australia, but he is now in receipt of advice from the Director of Munitions, Melbourne, stating that it is regretted, owing to the impossibility of obtaining further supplies from Great Britain, and the threatened serious shortage in Australia, that the exportation of Australian supplies of white lead to New Zealand is being refused for the time being. The Director of Munitions in Australia, however, is prepared to give special consideration in regard to applications for supplies to bo used exclusively for shipping purposes,
