SACRED CONCERT.
A most successful concert in aid of tho now’Catholic .Memorial Church was held in the Palace Theatre last night, and in spite of the unpleasant weather there was a good attendance. An exceptionally fine musical programme was given by local artists, every item being thoroughly appreciated. The Awapnni Orchestra was iu attendance under Corpl. Fleming, and played a number of overtures. Mrs Broad sang “Alla Stella. Confident!', ’’ with violin obligato by Mr Cohen, and bliss M. ’Keanus gave a most successful rendering of ‘‘o Lovely Night.” bliss V. Graham’s item, “Consider the Lillies,” was also much appreciated, while Gounod’s “0 Divine Redeemer” suited Miss Hanlon’s voice admirably, and her interpretation of this beautiful theme was most artistic and earned the ringer hearty applause. btrs Bailey’s song, “My Dear Soul,” was much appreciated. Songs were also contributed by Pvt. J. Aitkcn and Mr T, .1. Rodgers. Tho accompaniments were played by Mrs T. J. Rodgers.
