There Is little liveliness elsewhere, though all along the Australian and New Zealand front the Germans are dropping many gas shells, which, however, are causing little trouble to the. experienced troops. The Anzaes are doing some daring night patrolling, and are securing valuable information about the enemy’s dispositions. Our sharpshooters are keeping the. enemy s snipers well down, and are also making a sorry moss of his ammunition carriers and wiring parties. Mr Gilmour instances a case where an Australian padre, after several hours of the heaviest work dressing the wounded at a regimental aid depot, stepped outside for a breadth of air, and was immediately blown to pieces by a shell.
