BOWLING.
A pairs tournament was hold on the Palmerston green to-day, a large number of players participating in the play. Pour links from Marten visited Terrace End to-day, a,nd the green being in good order, some enjoyable games were played. A ton ring team from the Newton Club, Wellington, consisting of Luke, Manning. Laws. and Wylie (skip)' arrived on Saturday to play matches with the two local clubs. The first match was against Hrophy’s team (Palmerston Club), the visitors winning by 29 to 25. Tlie next game '"as with Luurenson’s team (Terrace Paul) but the viritors on this occasion suffered defeat by three points. Scores: Laurenson 19, Wylie 16. lids morning, Wylie’s rink met Hodgson’s on the Palmerston green, the latter being beaten by 25 to 15.
