AN APPEAL ABANDONED.
MR MYERS' STATEMENT. (Per Press Association.} WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. When the appeals of Young and Howell against their conviction lor inciting a .seditious strike came before the Chief Justice to-day. Mr Myers, for appellants, said he had been shown certain telegrams which were not put in as evidence in the Lower Court, and had advised his clients not to proceed Sir Robert Stout, in formally dismissing the appeals, advised the seamen to return to work.
