THE END OF THE SESSION.

(Fbom Oub Pablumentaby Repobteb.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. Although members and Ministers say generally that the session is going to end this month, there is not yet. any sign of hurry about the House. Members are doing their work in a leisurely way and they have plenty of il. still in front of them. The amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Liquor Bill will give rise to sonic debates before agreement is reached. Jhe Expeditionary Force Bill, containing the provision for the exemption of clergymen, is waiting for the completion of its second reading. The report of the Cost of Living i Committee has to come back to the House ami will give rise to another..debate. Ihe .-Social Hygiene Bill is not likely to proceed very far ' in its present form, but it will occupy time. The Loan Bill and a Maori Land'Bill are among the other matters in hand The question of pensions and allowances appears to be disposed of. But there will be trouble if the Government, after heading utter inability to pay the soldier and his wife more than £2 16s a week, proposes a war bonus for civil servants.
