THE "OUR DAY" EFFORT.

MESSAGE FROM. THE KING. (Pbe Pbbbb Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. Addressing a gathering this morning outside of Parliament in support or the "Our Day" effort organised by the commercial travellers for tho Red Cross fund, Mr Massoy read a message from the King paying a tribute to the Red Cross work at the front. His Majesty says he has had constant opportunity "of witnessing tho work of mercy carried out with unparalleled devotion by men and women under the Red dross. Prompt and unstinted provision of .medical stores and comforts were all important. The prisoners of war were also remembered in the allocation of tho funds. Tho King therefore trusts there will bo no falling off in financial support at Homo and in the Overseas Dominions for the maintenance or tho Rod Cross organisation. His Majesty announces his personal contribution of ten thousand pounds to "Our Day" Fund as a mark of appreciation of Red Cross work.
