ARBITRATION COURT JUDGMENT. (Pbe Prhrb Association.) WELLINGTON. 0.1, 17. The Arbitration Court gave judgment today, dealing with the.,interpretation of the points in dispute in the agreement between the coastal shipowners anil tlie seamen, the points being directed in favour of the employers’ view. In the agreement- in regard to two men in a watch, the Court doubted its'jurisdiction to deal with the question, but expressed the opinion that on tho vessels in question it was not essential to safety to carry two deck hands in a watch, in addition to the officer. THE TROUBLE SPREADING. AUCKLAND. Oct. 17. The coastal steamer Awahou has been do. laved since ten o’clock last night for dock hands, the latter having Jeff after giving 25 boms’ .notice, - without giving a reason. So far the agents are unable to till their places. Awahou ’is a vessel having only one seaman on watch at sea.
