MILLION POUND SWINDLE.

FOLin BELGIANS ARRESTED. LONDON, Sept. 30. The Daily Mail prints a hitherto unpublished story to the effect that four Belgians were arrested in London months ago on a charge of swindling the Belgian Government, It is alleged that the amount involved is £1,000,000, and the operations took place while they were engaged in connection with the repairing in London of motor-lorries for the Belgian army, used by virtue of a special convention between the British and Belgian Governments. The prisoners were transferred to Calais, whore they were tried by courtmartial. They have, however, appealed to the highest Belgian Court, which [does not sit nowadays, so that the appeal stands in abeyance. The accused have boon released on £IO,OOO bail.
