NAVAL ENGAGEMENTS IN GULF OF RIGA.
INDECISIVE RESULTS. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. Received October 16, 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 15. A wireless Russian official report says: The enemy occupied ArensbUrg on Saturday, their aerial naval forces supporting land operations. Squadrons of enemy cruisers and torpedo Ixiats attempted to force an entrance through the Irbe channel, but our long-range guns on Oesel Island compelled them to take cover. Further movements of enemy torpodoers in Riga Gulf, between Oesel 'and Dago Islands, pressed back our patrol boats in the direction of Moon Sound, but oiu naval craft were reinforced and compelled the enemy to retire.
THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT. Australian-New Zealand table Association. PETROGRAD, Oct. 14. A Government decree has fixed a Constituent Assembly to consist of 730 members. The election will bo based on universal suffrage, and the country will, be divided into eighty-three districts. Petrograd is to have twelve members and Moscow ten.
