REV. HOWARD ELLIOTT ASSAULTED.

(Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Oct. 16. At the Police Court Gunner Charles Clements and Herbert MoLntee were charged with assaulting Howard Elliott by striking him with a stick. The Court was crowded and there was hooting and cheering when the accused was called. The Magistrate ordered the Court to be cleared. Counsel for the accused asked for an adjournment to obtain evidence from Wellington. The Court granted the remand for ono week.
