A French communique North of the Aisne the Germans during the night Jaundicd several attacks on our positions in tlie llurtcbise-Chevraux’ sector. A later communique says: The artillery is active on the sector between Laffaux mill and in the region of the Craonne. The enemy raids at Souain and Aubonve, mentioned this morning, were carried out with strong ollcctivos, preceded by a- thirtysix hours’ bombardment. The attacks were delivered by special storm troops, pioneer detachments, each 140 strong. Lively engagements resulted which ended decidedly in our favour. The enemy’s Josses were particularly heavy.
