SCIENCE AND INVENTION. HOW THEY ARE ADVANCING. Not many years ago anything in the form of an invention or labour-saving device was looked upon with suspicion, and if the invention proved to bo exceptionally good and clover the inventor ran a serious risk of losing his liberty, or of being burned at tho stake on a charge of witchcraft. Nowadays, however, tho people are more enlightened, and anything that tends to increase tiie general standard of comfort or lighten man’s labour, is hailed with delight, and the fortunate inventor is honoured as a public benefactor. Records of patented articles are at present being sold in the Dominion, one of tho most; important of which is the “Wizard” Lighting System for country houses. 'I his lighting system has made tho old method of house lighting by means of kerosene lamps or acctolene gas quite obsolete. Tho plant is simple i.n construction, easy to operate, and cheap to run, and is sold at a very low price being obtained from x/ 15 upwards. It cannot get out of order, and will last a lifetime. Over 2000 homes in Now Zealand aye being made bright and cheerful by “Wizard” Light. The lamps in various rooms arc connected with a small reservoir, whirl) stands outside tho house, by means of small brass tubes, which carries benzine or petrol from tho reservoir to the lumps. At the lamps tho benzine is turned into vapour, tho vapour mixes with the air, and makes a gas which is burned in the inverted gas mantle, just tho same as f coa 1 gas. except, that tho “Wizard” Light is softer, whiter, and “Wizard” Lamps are patented in New Zealand and all foreign countries, so they cannot be copied, but, as with all otjicr successful patents, other lamps are- being sold that, arc something like the “Wizard” bight in appearance, but are not fitted with the .special patented features, which makes th c “Wizard” Light such a wonderful success. Government post offices, and wireless stations, banks, schools, colleges, churches, halts, stores, and every description of buildings are being fitted with “Wizard” flighting Systems, and country people should make a point of writing to Messrs Early Bros.. Ltd., 181 Feathorston street, Wellington, for full particulars of “Wizard” Light, before being persuaded to purchase any other form of lighting system —there is no other “Just as Good.” K.
