Lieut. Roy den McDowell, who_ recently underwent a serious operation in Wellington Hospital, is now convalescent, and returned to Danncvirke yesterday. Sergeant Henry, of the Palmerston police, who has been confined to his home for the last week, is convalescent, and will resume duty in clue course. Mr J. K. Nathan, son of Mr David Nathan, of Wellington, who returned to England after serving with the Rod Cross on the Italian front, where lie was decorated with the Italian medal, has almost lost the sight of his right eye.
