Louisa Craig, whirh recently engaged in a race between Sun I'Vancueo and New Zealand .with tho American sailing hip GoHen Gate, arrived at Lyttelton on Sunday. Particular interest was centred in the (event, as both vessels are woll know.: for their speed. The Golden Gate arrived at Auckland alter a passage of ■ii) days, and is .now at Wellington. Although the New Zealand vessel oecu- ■ pied some 53 days to reach Lyttelton, it is claimed lor her that she won the race, having arrived off the coast much j farther south in the same time as that Occupied hv the Golden Gate to reach Auckland. The actual distance accomplished was, 6855 miles, and the host day's sailing was 213 miles.
