CRISIS IN COAL TRADE.
MINERS ON THE VERGE OF A STRIKE. (Bi Xuonio TILIOBAPH—CoPIWOHt.I (Pu PBIBB Association.) LONDON, May 1. The Miners' Conference unanimously rejected the employer-' offer of an immediate increase, and decided to leave the claim for 20 per cent entirely to Mr Asquith for decision. Negotiations in the crisis have broken down, and it is feared that only immediate Government action will prevent a miners' strike.
