LINTON RIFLE CLUB.

Tlie Linton Rifle Club fired their first competition for the Greer Cup on Saturday afternoon. The weather was very line and sonic big scares were registered. These competitions are open to all members, but off the rifle only, handicaps being added to the It class scores for the Abraham Cup aggregate. The conditions of the first competition were 15 shots at 500 yards. Scores (A class) were as follows : —F. Needbain, 71; W. Keifs, 71; W. Ball, 69; A. McMurrav, 69; 11. T. Payne, 68; 11. Griggs. 66. B class scores, with handicaps, and Abraham Cup totals, are as follows: A. Andrews. 67-3-70; I. Marshall, 66—4 70; P. Leamv, 66-4-70; W. Thompson, 66-4-70; I'lVVateon, 65-4-69; T. India, 63—4-67; T. Kdwards, 62-4-66; S. Tremainc 62—4—66; \Y. Borough. 59—10—69; C. Milroy, 54-15-69- A. Needham, 52-15 -67; G. Dredge, 51-15-66; W. Beswick, 49-15-64; G." Ackhurst, 47-15-62; I). Smillie, 41-15-56. It is hoped, weather permitting and the range being available, to lire two more competitions and tluu close down for the winter months. In all probability a triangular match will Iw l held at Wanganui on June 3rd, between teams representing Wnuganw', Bulls, and Linton l{jh\» Clubs, 10 men aside.
