LOSS OF HER TRANSPORTS.

(Delayed Cable.) VANCOUVER, Jan. 16. Petrograd messages sav that the beliel is growing that Constantinople is really 111 danger. The military position in Turkey has become desperate owing to the clearance of their transports that were off the southern shore of the Black Sea.
Jhe Russian warships cruising there destroyed a number of sailing vessels which the Breslau and Hamidieh should have guarded.
Tsing projectors the Turkish warships opened fire on the Russian cruisers at night. The latter returnqd tihe fire, and the second broadsi-de destroyed the Brcslau's projector, and then the Hamidieh extinguished hers, and both vessels disappeared in the darkness.
LOOSED BY STORM. MINES ON BELGIAN OOAST. (Delayed Cable.) LONDON, Jan. 17. A storm has loosed mines on the Belgian coast in such numbers that the whole of the coastal waters are filled. The mines were evidently placed in position in expectation of an attempted landing ot soldiers at Knocke, Heyst, and Zeebrugge. The exploding of the mines was responsible for the recent reports of a heavy bombardment on the Belgian coast. :
