THE FOXTON WHARF.

INTERVIEW WITH THE MINISTER FOR RAILWAYS. The Minister for Railways went to Foxton this morning to moot a deputation representing the Foxton Harbour Board in regard to the wharf there. Those present at the interview, which was a private one, wert* the Minister, chairman of the Harlx>ur Board (Mr Henneasy). Mavor of Foxton (Mr Stiles), and Messrs Jenks and Robertson. The Chairman of the Board submitted certain proposals for the purc-ha.se of the wharf from the Department, but the Minister intimated that the suggestion that debentures be issued to cover the cost could not £ga[Jy be put into effect. He made certain farther proposals, which will bo considered by the Board at a special meeting. The Minister subsequently left for Levin. en route to Wellington. -An apology was received from Mr J. A. Naeh for unavoidable absence from the interview.
