ACCIDENT AT LONGBURN.

PORTEB INJURED WHILE SHUNTING.

A porter named Bert Douglas, employed at the Longburn railway station, »et with an accident this morning while shunting trucks off the fiiat train from Paekakariki. How the accident actually occurred was not ascertainable, but it is surmised that he slipped off the brakes of a truck on which he was standing and struck his head on another waggon. He sustained injuries to his head and back and was removed to the Palmerston Hospital.
