SHORT CRIMINAL SESSIONS AT DtINEOIN; (Pib PliM AMocnnoN.l \-\ VDUNEDIN, May 12. The criminal sessions this morning lasted fifty minutes, there being only two charges, and each prisoner pleaded guilty. John Reddan, who broke into a fancy goods shop at Oamaru, was admitted to probation for three years, on condition that he takes out a prohibition order. John Prentice, for theft from the person at Wingatui racecourse, was ordered up for sentence when called on, on the understanding that he does not again drink to excess.

AUCKLAND, May 12. The Supreme Uourt criminal sessions opened this morning before Judge Cooper. The calendar eotnprisee twen-ty-four charges, including an indictment of murder against Sarah Slcellern and a similar charge against the lad Edward Augustus Sbeehah.
WELLINGTON SESSION. WELLINGTON, May 12. The Grand Jury returned no bill in the case of waiter Litchfield, chargcw with causing a threatening letter to be received. The case arose out of tho reoerifc slaughtermen's strike, accused, it was alleged,, having sent a threatening'letter to Mr Reardon, secretary of the Union. SENTENCES AT OttRISTCHURCH. CmiISTCHURCH, May 12. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day. ' Frederick William Bradshaw, for embezzlement, was sentenced to throe years', and Lionel Hooker. Jor indecent assault, to-three years' reformative treatment. .Thomas Morton, for breaking and entering, received two years', and John Bradley six months'.
