RURAL REGENERATION.
BRITISH LABOURERS' DEPLORABLE CONDITION. A NON-PARTY QUESTION. (Bx Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ) (Piß PBMS MsncrATTOK.) LONDON, May 9. The Rt. Hon. D. Lloyd-George, in reply to the question: "What progress had the land committee enquiry made?" said that agricultural labourers' conditions were deplorable. Their wages and housing were scandalous. He had a plan which he would outline later ay which a serious stream of migration could be diverted, and the surplus population of the towns placed upon the land. Received May 10, 8.0 a.m. LONDON, May 9. Mr Lloyd-George appealed to the Opposition to treat the land question from a national and not from a partisan standpoint. He hoped they would cooperate with the Government.
