On rising to reply, his Excellencv received an ovation. He thanked the "people for their very cordial welcome, and sincerely trusted that noi only during his tertn of ofhee, but long after he had pass* ed from these shores, the same feeling of attachment to the Motherland that now existed would remain in the hearts of tho people.
