So lie! devised a Plan, The Plan he. devised was this: Ho Sauced her parents and caused h Friend to. give them bad reports of him, so that they waxed exceedingly Indignant, and said' Bitter Things of him. Whereupon he consulted his Solicitor, who was a Shady Card, and who wroto to the Parents a Beastly Letter, and lo! they said more Bitter Things, and this time in Writing, Whereupon the Young Man sued them for Deformation of Character; and receiving much inoney in Damages was able to Start House, and marry the Girl. Which serves to show that a man's best friend is his Mothor-in-Law.
