WANGANUI PRESBYTERY.

Tho ordinary riieeting of the Wanganui Presbytery was continued yesterday afternoon after'we went to press, • Tho report of the committee on tho Assembly remit concerning tho transference of members was read. The committee's reoommendations in regard to same were adopted with tho addition that a uniform system of certificates bo adopted by tho Assembly. ■ ... ' It was decided that tho following ministerial representatives be sent to the Assemblyßevs. Fletcher, Doull,. J. D. McKenzio, McCully, Chisholm, Hall, Frascr, J. A, McKenzio, Randorson and Budd. The following eessions were invited to send representative elders, who should bo voting mombers of tho Assembly;— Fordell, Bulls, Marton, St Andrews' (Wanganui), Feilding, Levin, Rev. A. Canleron was nominated for the position of Moderator of the 1912 Assombly. _• The nominations to Assembly's committeo resulted as follows:—Commissions and Records, Mr McCully (clerk); standing committee, Mr Fraser. ■ The following;calls were dealt with: From Mothven congregation ttv tho Rev. Aitken, of Foxton,— Rev. L'oull reported that at a congregational meeting of the Foxton church, there was tho unanimous feeling: amongst the members that they did not wish Mr Aitken to leave them. As the minister of tho Foxton charge he had dono excellent work; however, his congregation did not desire to put any obstacle m his way if ho wished to accept the call. Messrs J. Costall, Yates and Davey, on behalf of the Foxton congregation and the surrounding district churches in the charge, also spoke, expressing tho sorrow that would be felt if Mr Aitken, should leavo. Rev. Aitken placed the whole matter in the hands of the Presbytery, and if it was their will that, lie should mako tho change, lie was quite agreeable, It was pointed out that Mr Aitken had been ordained under special circumstances and under a promise that ho would remain in Foxton for a number of years.- It was decided that Mr Aitken be released from the unwritten pledge given to the Presbytery when the petition for his ordinance came forward, that he would remain for a period of years in the Foxton charge, and that the call be placed in his hands. Mr Aitken declined tho call. From to Rev. A, Morton, of Wanganui East—Rev. J. D. McKenzio reported thac he'arranged for a congregational meeting in Mr Morton's church, and those present had expressed their gratitude at the work their minister had dono for them. They placed tho whole matter in tho hands of tho Presbytery. However, they would to very sorry if Mr Morton should leave'them,' but for hi? sake did not v.ish to place any obstacle in tho way. Mr Morton stated that although 1 he w : ould feel it hard to leavo his present charge, he did not see how he could refuse tho call if it should be placed in his hands. The'call was placed in Mr Morton's hands, and was accepted. The Presbytery passed a hearty yoto of thanks to Mr .Morton for tho he had rendered during his term of office, and tho timo and attention ho had' devoted to liis mission since Mr Ryburn left Wanganui, His resignation i>' to bo accepted from tho time of the next ordinary meeting! of tho Presbytery. Rev. J. D McKenzio was appointed as moderator of St. Andrew's, Wunganui, in Rev. Morton's place, Rev. J. D, McKenzio applied, on behalf of St. Paul's _ (Wanganui) congregation, for leave to increaso their loan from £9,000 to £12,000. £2,000 of which would be used to pay off a mortgage. A committee, consisting of Revs, Chisholm, McCully and Simpson, was appointed to grant tho required power to the congregation when tho necessary regulations wero complied with.
