ST PAUL'S BAZAAR.

For #OlllO time past a band of willing workers has been assiduously engaged in preparing for a grand fete in aid of the building fund of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Tho result of their labours is scon in the bazaar, which was opened by tho Mayor this afternoon, in the Empiro Hall. All success should attend the venture, for it has been 'organised on round lines, and the public interest manifested at the inauguration may bo taken to indicate that liberal patronage will bo forthcoming. Tho hall presents a _ charming interior, the various stalls being tastefully decorated while being leden with attractive displays of wares in an abundant selection. The plain and fancy stalls oontains much that is useful as well as ornamental, and a collection that represents a self-sacrificing effort, on the part of the ladies. Tho toothsome stock of tho sweets stall is bound to "go off," and flower stall should bo irresistibly attractive. Tho young folk are well catered for with the Christmas tree, that evergreen 6ourco of fun. The produce stall is something substantial, from which the larder may be replenished in a number of requirements.

Tho management of Ihe various departments has been very effectively distributed as follows:—Sweets stall, Mrs. McLeavev and Miss Carty, assisted by Mrs Bycroft and Misses Laurenson and Stubbs; fancy stall, Mesdames Spcncc, Cunningliame and Tortonson; plain stall, Mesdames Spooner, ICerslake, and Stubbs; fancy stall No. 2, Mrs Harper, senr., Mrs C. Harper, and Miss Harper; flower stall, Messrs W. Hale and I. Gordon; Christmas tree, Misses Spooner and Kcrslafco; produce stall, Messrs Bert, Mathieson and Horace Cunninghame. Refreshments arc an indispensible part of anv protracted entertainment, and in this instance thev liavo not been overlooked, The tea room is under the capable control of Mesdames Whittington and Bates, who will dispense afternoon tea and, at 1 p.m. to-morrow, a light, luncheon for tho convenience of country visitors. Miss Ividd has charge of the competitions, which will be of a nature calculated to cause anv amount of wholesome merriment and enthusiasm. Tho musical arrangements are receiving the attention of Mi- r Whittington,_ and an excellent, pro- : gramme is promised.
