WOOL SALES. (By E:ecteio Teltoeaph-Copibioht.) (Per Press Association.) LONDON, Sept. 4. Tho wool sales included a quantity of the' new season's clip and a good proportion of it is dirty and burry. The attendance was large. Competition was mostly confined to the German section. Prices were good, and on a par with last week. Faulties were neglected, and there were considerable withdrawals. ' Greasy touched 123 d and scoured 20jjd.

HOLSTEIN-JERSEY CROSS COWS AND HEIFERS. AU-limatangi, on Monday 11th, inst., Mr !x R. Lancaster is offering for sale a particularly nice Jot of 100 cows and 100 heifers, comprising mostly Holstein and Jersoy crosses. A number of these cows Mr Lancaster has boon milking on his Himatangi farm, and the balance have been carefully selected from 6ome of the best dairies in tho district, the Holsteins being specially reserved for the Himatangi sale. As usual, Mr Lancaster guarantees every eow sound, and as they are a particularly good, lot and close to profit,.they should command the attention of those in search of high class dairy stock. Tho majority of tho heifers were bought as yearlings, and have been wintered at the Himatangi farm, They are a particularly choice lot, and are well forward in calf. Owing to the high prico now ruling for butter-fat ant tho oxcellent prospoct generally for dairying, those cattle should command ready attention. Tho salo is alsolutoly without reserve, and will bo held at the Himatangi saleyards, commencing at 11 a.m. sharp. For the convenience of buyers Mr Lanoaster is prepared to put all purchases on trucks at Himatangi freo of charge. The train leaves Palmorston North at 9 a.m. and returns to Palmerston at 4.40 p.m. The sale will be conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. AUCTION SALES. Gillies and Nalder hold a sale of 600 head of mixed cattle at their Hawera yards on Thursday. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., are holding a salo of freehold flax land at their sale rooms, Rangitikci .street, on Saturday, September 23, on behalf of the New Zealand Hemp Process and By-pro-ducts Co., Ltd., full particulars of which will bo found in tho advertisement. To-morrow Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., will offer for sale by auction tho famous Te Horo estate, formerly owner by the late Mr J. E. Gear. This property has been divided into 62 sections ranging in area from one to 162 acres. It is adjacent to tho To Horo railway station, and affords tho _ opportunity of' procuring cither residential or small farm sections at a. convenient distance from Wellington.
