SHOOTING.
Tlio Palmcrston North Rides completed the fourth competition for the non-coms.' shield on Saturday last, at 600 and 700 yards. Although a cold strong wind was blowing, somo good scores wore put on, especially at the 700 yards, where Sergt. Ball made 33, and had he thrown out. his sighter (a 4) he would have registered 34, for on firing the eighth shot another live was scored. The final winner of .'the competition proved to bo Pte. Gil. Treniaine. who finished with a total of 128 points. Sergt. I'nll being runner-up with 127. The following are the scores.
